Greetings All

Where does time go? We've just completed our yearly trek to the Winnipeg Folk Festival. If you have never heard of it, you might want to Google the festival. For years we camped, now we spend our time at a wonderful B&B in Selkirk, called Evergreen Gate. I love sleeping in a bed and waking up with a hot breakfast waiting for me. Ah, some luxuries are treasured.

Yesterday, as I went for my walk, I decided to take it in reverse. When you take a different route you notice things that you've passed many times and haven't seen. As I walked down a trail, I saw a young oak tree with its branches and leaves hanging over the path. This tree was growing on the side of the road that I don't usually walk. As I looked up and noticed the tree for the first time, I stopped short, suddenly reaching out to touch the leaves I started to cry. The emotion that over took me at that moment was unexplainable. I was so thankful for all the trees have taught me, the energy that flows through them, their trusting stance, the fact I was able to write Tree Spirited Woman.

Writing Tree Spirited Woman has changed my life in so many ways. I continue to meet wonderful people, have opportunities to share stories at bookstores, book clubs, art/craft events, churches and this fall present at the 2011 SD Festival of Books. It is because of you, the readers that these opportunities have come my way. So many of you have contacted me to share your thoughts and stories. Every time I hear from someone, I feel grateful. Many of your stories and notes have brought tears as well as joy. Thank you for all your kind words and for sharing Tree Spirited Woman with others.

May you embrace new opportunities, experiences, relationships, and share a positive attitude with everyone you encounter.

Colleen
